Clinical Review of post-operative Fluoroscopic Guided External Choledochoscopic Extraction in Retained Stones

Abstract
Postoperatively retained biliary calculi is still disturbing problem for surgeon. Percutaneous stone removal through T-tube tract by use of choledochoscopy or Dormia stone basket under fluoroscopic guide are used successfully, till now. We
performed
stone removal with choledochoscopy and Dormia basket combined and obtained satisfactory results. The records of 168 patients, who underwent operations for biliary calculi on the Department of Surgery, Gyeongsang National University Hospital
between
Aporil 1987 and April 1991 were reviewed and analysed. We performed removal of retained stone by use of above mentioned method in 7 cases.
@ES The results were as follows:
@EN 1) The ratio, male to female was 1:1.67.
2) The age ranged from 20 to 81 with average of 53.58 and the peak range was 4 th decade.
3) The most common location of biliary stone was CBD (58.3%) as grouping and GB (34.52%) as subgrouping.
4) 35 cases (20.83%) have previous history of operation for biliary calculi.
5) 36 cases (21.43%) were infested with Clonorchis sinensis.
6) Residual stone was present in 26 cases (15.48%).
7) Removal of retained stone was performed in 7 cases (CBD stone: 5 cases. IHD stone: 2 cases, combined: 1 cases) and extracted successfully in 100% of cases.
